A traditional German engineering business, acquired by a pan-European group, had grown a number of divisions piecemeal, providing turnkey solutions for the packaging industry from factories and lines to tooling, forming machines, inspection lines and material handling. Barely profitable and in slow decline, the business was re-organised around a newly identified core competence: within 18 months profits improved by over €2m, and quality and staff retention improved greatly.
Re-booting a loss-maker onto a profitable growth path.
A loss-making B2B subsidiary of a FTSE 100 company required 're-booting' and setting on a profitable growth path. Within 18 months profitability improved by over £3m, SKUs were rationalised by 34% with no lost volumes or customers, and OEE improved from 70% to 92%.
